One number, and the honest version of it
Total portfolio value sits at the top, with what you paid beside it and the gain or loss between the two. Melt value and market value are kept distinct. A graded coin is worth more than its silver, and the app doesn't flatten that distinction to make the number look better.
Live spot prices, with the context
Gold, silver, platinum and palladium refresh from the market, each showing its move against the previous close. When the market is closed, the app says so rather than presenting a stale quote as live.
