Terms of Service

These terms are the agreement between you and Cedar Forge Labs for using My Coin Stack. We've tried to write them the way we'd explain them across a table: plainly, without hiding anything important in the small print. How we handle your information is covered separately in our Privacy Policy.

1. Accepting these terms

By creating an account or using My Coin Stack, you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, please don't use the service. If you use My Coin Stack on behalf of a business or club, you're agreeing for that organization too, and telling us you're allowed to.

2. Who we are

My Coin Stack is built and run by Cedar Forge Labs ("we", "us"). It's a tracker for coins and bullion, available as iOS and Android apps, in the browser at web.mycoinstack.app, and as companion apps for Apple Watch, Wear OS, and TV. We call all of that together "the service."

3. Who can use it

You must be at least 18 years old to use My Coin Stack. The service includes a community, messaging, and a marketplace where people arrange to buy and sell valuable items, and it's built for adults. You also can't use it if you're barred from doing so under the laws that apply to you, or if we've previously removed you from it.

4. Your account and its security

One account is for one person. Give us accurate information, keep your email address current so we can reach you, and don't share your sign-in or let someone else use your account. You're responsible for what happens under your account.

We offer two-factor authentication and passkeys, and we encourage you to turn them on; a coin collection is worth protecting. If you link a watch or TV, that device can show data from your account until you unlink it. If you think someone has gotten into your account, change your password and tell us straight away.

5. Subscriptions and billing

My Coin Stack has a free plan and a paid plan called Pro. The free plan has limits, such as a cap on how many items your collection can show; the app shows the current limits. Pro lifts them.

Pro is sold as a monthly or annual subscription that renews automatically at the end of each period until you cancel. The price and period are shown before you buy.

• Bought through the App Store or Google Play: Apple or Google charges you, and their terms govern the payment. Cancel from your App Store or Google Play subscription settings at least 24 hours before the period ends to avoid the next charge. Refunds are handled by Apple or Google under their policies; we can't issue them for purchases we didn't process.
• Bought on the web: payment is processed by Stripe. Cancel any time from your account settings. For a refund request, contact us; we'll handle it fairly and as the law requires.

When you cancel, Pro stays active until the end of the period you've paid for. Deleting the app does not cancel a subscription. If a Pro subscription ends, nothing you've added is deleted: the items over the free limit are hidden, stay included in your data export, and come back if you resubscribe. The one exception is photos on items that have stayed hidden for a full year; we'll email you a warning a month before those photos are removed.

We may change Pro's price. A new price never applies to a period you've already paid for; we'll give you notice before it applies to a renewal, and the app store may ask you to confirm it. Sometimes we give people Pro for free, for a set time or indefinitely. A complimentary grant has no cash value and we can end it with notice.

6. Your content

Your collection records, photos, notes, profile, posts, comments, polls, messages, listings, and contest entries are yours. We don't claim ownership of any of it.

To run the service, we need your permission to handle that content. So you give us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to host, store, copy, process, and display your content, and to adapt it only as needed to operate the service (for example, resizing a photo into a thumbnail), in order to provide My Coin Stack to you and to show your content to the people you've chosen to share it with. We don't use this license to sell your content or to use it in advertising. It ends when you delete the content or your account, except for copies already shared with others (a message you sent stays in the recipient's conversation), reasonable backup cycles, and anything we're legally required to keep.

You're responsible for what you post. Only share content you have the right to share, including photos you took yourself or have permission to use.

7. Community rules

My Coin Stack has zero tolerance for objectionable content and abusive users. Anywhere in the service, including the Community feed, comments, messages, profiles, listings, and contests, you agree not to:

• Harass, bully, threaten, or intimidate anyone.
• Post hate speech, or attack people for who they are.
• Post sexual, pornographic, or gratuitously violent content.
• Post or offer anything illegal, or encourage illegal activity.
• Scam, defraud, or mislead people, including fake listings, payment tricks, and phishing.
• Impersonate another person, a dealer, a mint, a grading service, or us.
• Share someone else's private information, such as an address, phone number, or where they keep their collection.
• Spam, or send unsolicited promotions.
• Upload malware or anything designed to harm devices or data.
• Scrape, crawl, or bulk-download the service, or use bots or automation to access it, except through features we provide.
• Get around plan limits, bans, blocks, or security measures, or probe or attack our systems.

8. Reporting, blocking, and moderation

If you see content or behavior that breaks these rules, report it from inside the app, and block anyone you don't want to hear from.

We review reports and act on objectionable content, normally within 24 hours. We may remove content, restrict features such as selling or messaging, or suspend or permanently ban an account, and we'll remove the user who posted it when the violation calls for it. We may act with or without notice when someone's safety, the law, or the integrity of the service is at stake. We aren't obliged to monitor everything posted, and we can't catch everything, which is why your reports matter.

9. The marketplace and transfers

The marketplace is a classifieds board. My Coin Stack helps buyers and sellers find each other, but we are not a party to any sale. We don't process payments, hold funds, ship items, authenticate or grade coins, or guarantee that a listing is accurate, that an item is genuine, or that the other person will follow through. Payment and shipping are arranged directly between you and the other person, at your own risk. The same goes for offers: making or accepting an offer through "Make an offer" is an arrangement between the two of you. Treat an accepted offer as a commitment you intend to keep, but we don't enforce it.

Listings must follow our marketplace guidelines, which you'll find in the app. In short, you can't list:

• Counterfeits, replicas, or copy coins, unless they're clearly and prominently labeled as such. Replicas must also meet the U.S. Hobby Protection Act, which requires imitation numismatic items to be plainly and permanently marked "COPY".
• Stolen, lost, or fraudulently obtained items.
• Items you don't own or can't legally sell.
• Items with a misrepresented grade, mint mark, or authenticity, including altered or doctored coins presented as genuine.

Buyers and sellers are each responsible for following the laws that apply to their sale, including sales tax, income tax, reporting requirements, and any rules on shipping or exporting precious metals.

Transfers let you send an item's record to another user's collection after a sale, trade, or gift. A transfer is record-keeping only. It moves the entry between accounts; it doesn't move the physical coin, transfer legal title, or confirm that anything was paid for.

10. Prices and valuations are information, not advice

Spot prices, melt values, portfolio totals, and other valuations in My Coin Stack come from third-party price feeds and from the details you enter. They can be delayed, incomplete, or wrong, and they are not what a dealer will actually pay or charge. They're there to help you keep track, not to tell you what to do.

Nothing in My Coin Stack is financial, investment, tax, or legal advice, and we don't guarantee the accuracy of any price or value. Please don't make a buying, selling, insurance, or tax decision based only on a number in the app.

11. App stores and other services

My Coin Stack relies on services run by others, such as the Apple App Store, Google Play, Stripe, and our price-data providers. Your use of those is also subject to their own terms, and we aren't responsible for them. You must also follow any terms of your mobile carrier or other provider that apply when you use the app.

If you got the app from Apple's App Store: these terms are between you and Cedar Forge Labs only, not Apple. Apple isn't responsible for the app or its content. Your license to use the app is limited to Apple-branded devices you own or control, as permitted by the App Store's Usage Rules. Apple has no obligation to provide any maintenance or support for the app. If the app fails to conform to any applicable warranty, you can notify Apple and Apple will refund the purchase price, if any; to the maximum extent the law allows, Apple has no other warranty obligation for the app. Cedar Forge Labs, not Apple, is responsible for addressing any claims relating to the app or your use of it, including product liability claims, claims that the app fails to meet a legal or regulatory requirement, consumer protection claims, and claims that the app infringes someone's intellectual property; send any such questions, complaints or claims to us at the address in section 19. You confirm that you are not located in a country subject to a U.S. Government embargo or designated as a "terrorist supporting" country, and that you are not on any U.S. Government list of prohibited or restricted parties. Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these terms and, once you accept them, may enforce them against you.

If you got the app from Google Play: these terms are between you and Cedar Forge Labs only, not Google, and Google isn't responsible for the app or its content. Google Play's own terms also apply to your download and any purchase.

12. Our intellectual property and your feedback

The apps, the website, the My Coin Stack name and logo, and the catalog, designs, and software behind them belong to Cedar Forge Labs or our licensors. We give you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use the service for its intended purpose while you follow these terms. Please don't copy, resell, reverse-engineer, or build a competing product from it, except where the law expressly allows.

We love hearing ideas. If you send us feedback or suggestions, we can use them to improve My Coin Stack without owing you anything for them.

13. Ending things

You can stop using My Coin Stack at any time. To delete your account, go to Settings in the app, or visit web.mycoinstack.app/delete-account. Your account is deactivated and you're signed out immediately. For 30 days after that, signing back in restores everything. After the 30 days and a final review on our side, your account and its data are permanently deleted and can't be recovered, so export anything you want to keep first. Deleting your account doesn't cancel a subscription bought through Apple or Google; cancel that with the store.

We may suspend or close your account if you break these terms, if the law requires it, or if your use puts other people or the service at risk. Where it's reasonable, we'll tell you why. If we ever shut down My Coin Stack entirely, we'll give you reasonable notice and a chance to export your data first. Sections that by their nature should survive, such as the content license for things already shared, disclaimers, limits of liability, and governing law, continue after your account ends.

14. Disclaimers

We work hard to keep My Coin Stack accurate, secure, and available, but we can't promise perfection. The service is provided "as is" and "as available." To the fullest extent the law allows, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, title, and non-infringement. We don't warrant that the service will be uninterrupted or error-free, that catalog data or prices will be accurate, or that content or items from other users are genuine, legal, or as described.

15. Limits on our liability

To the fullest extent the law allows, Cedar Forge Labs won't be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, lost data, or losses from dealings with other users, arising from your use of the service. Our total liability for any claim relating to the service is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us for the service in the 12 months before the claim arose, or US$100.

Some places don't allow these kinds of limits, so parts of this section may not apply to you. Nothing in these terms limits any right you have under consumer protection law that can't be waived by contract.

16. Indemnity

If someone makes a claim against us because of content you posted, a transaction you took part in, or your breaking these terms or the law, you agree to cover the reasonable costs of that claim, including legal fees, to the extent the law allows.

17. Governing law and disputes

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Georgia, USA, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules. If you have a problem, please contact us first; most things can be sorted out quickly that way. If we can't resolve it, any dispute will be handled in the state or federal courts located in Georgia, and you and we both agree to their jurisdiction. Either of us may instead bring an individual claim in small-claims court, if it qualifies.

18. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms as My Coin Stack grows. When we make a meaningful change, we'll let you know in the app or by email before it takes effect, and update the date at the top of this page. If you keep using the service after a change takes effect, you're agreeing to the updated terms; if you don't agree, you can delete your account at any time.

If a part of these terms turns out to be unenforceable, the rest still applies. If we don't enforce a term right away, we haven't given up the right to later. You can't transfer these terms to someone else, but we may transfer them if My Coin Stack changes hands. These terms and our Privacy Policy are the whole agreement between you and us about the service.
